Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care




Course Overview:

This course provides you with basic training in a variety of early childhood settings and out-of-school hour’s programs. You will be able to work as a Level II childcare worker.

What you will learn: 

You will learn about providing food and physical care; responding to illnesses and accidents; and how to foster and support the emotional well being of infants while overseeing their physical, social and psychological development. You will also be able to provide appropriate administrative support in a child-care facility, while also providing a safe and healthy working environment.

Duration study load:

  • Class Hours = 788
  • Practicum Hours = 180
  • 968 hours @ 20 hours per week = 49 weeks plus holidays

Entry Requirements:

It is a requirement of this course that you have a current National Police Record Check that must be produced on enrolment.

Graduates of this qualification must be at least 18 years of age in order to gain recognised employment in the industry.

You will be required to sit a multiple choice assessment to ascertain your level of numeracy and literacy skills required to complete this course.

Assessments:
